You can't use the flat nuts with alloys :(

You can, the aftermarket alloys for mk7 are flat washer type that use standard mk7 nuts. The custom wheels have tapered ones but the taper is not very wide. I'm thinking of getting a set of custom/mk8 studs and fit them. 14 x 1.5 and then the custom alloy nuts will fit. It's an unnecessary complication created by Ford I think.

Or you could just buy the correct pitch taper alloy wheel nuts, I’m sure somewhere on here there’s a link for them on the bay of e

Those are nasty though they flake and rust quickly and I don't feel 100% safe that the threads won't fall off

Aye, but if only you know someone, an engineer type, with a big shed and a lathe that could fabricate some, that would be perfect or change all the hubs to mk8/custom hubs, anyway that’s all boring, the big question is what diesel V8 are you gonna drop in there with 2 turbos and 500nm torque

I will just buy 20 transit custom studs and the stainless covered nuts that are standard,i actually like them. The studs just Knock out.

I've seen some build info.

4.27 diff, I wanted 3.73.
Manual air conditioning though :o

The engine I can get remapped and as its swb with 3.73 diff will be strong enough,it'll wheel spin like foof i reckon.
Need to source low roof or pop top, and side door number 2 panels.need a tourneo to chop up

I've finally sorted out the intermittent (will it, won't it turn over) starting problem, which I thought was the starter motor ..........................

Turns out that it was the rear battery, with a new one installed, it's now starting every time. I'm still confused as to why it was intermittent, cos after a few attempts, it would turn over properly, and fire up :?

So we'll see what happens
1994 Mk4 SWB 115 Minibus 70ps Di (R.I.P.)
1997 Mk5 SWB 115 Minibus 70ps Di (Gone, but not forgotten!)

2008 Mk7 SWB T280 Medium Roof 85PS 2.2 TDCi - Also Vantunered

Heard of loose connections in the battery fuse box,
Might be worth checking all the clamp nuts in there

Anyone used lanoguard? I was thinking of cleaning underneath the new van,and welding it all then oil based paint then shutz. But does lanoguard act like rust killer?

Put the new batteries in it, and tried to move it, but the clutch pedal seems to be sticking to the floor - is this a common occurrence? To be fair the van hasn't been moved since September when it passed it's MOT, but I'm unsure whether it'll be the master cylinder, slave cylinder or clutch itself... Anyone have any ideas?

Also, how do I know whther it has a dual mass flywheel or not?

It's an 05 Mk6 17-seat minibus (2.4 - RWD) that I'm converting into a camper.

Yes it is.

Though an engineer of your calibre should be able to make it work with the original by the ingenious use of hedge treasure

I found a picture of 1 online.

I could make something but I'm trying to see if there's I can buy. Also want a detachable tow bar.

Sorted the screenwash that reached the bottom inch of the windscreen. Pulled the pipe off the back of the bonnet and pulled it through and blew down the pipe and heard the screenwash bubbling so knew the pipe was clear. Connected it all back up and the jest reached the middle of the screen so it seems there was some crud in the washer bottle/pipe.

Likely the bottle will be full of algae type gunk that'll float back to the washer pump filter screen.
Better off pulling the motor out of the bottle and flushing it out properly.
