I bought an ac refill can with gauge and tube to install the gas. Everywhere says the thick ac pipe is low pressure, my van only fits the small ac pipe that is right at the firewall, i plugged into that and opened the tap, the dial went to 50psi right at the maximum side of the green zone. Can is empty now. Maybe 300ml can? Ac is still blowing cool though

I have finally fitted the high spec clocks in my mk7, I've only had the van for 13 years lol.

Big thanks to loot once again for his details on how to add wires.

Cruise control and outside temp next. But I need to fit new bcm for that.

Get a permanent marker and draw round the door hinges. Then you can remove the door and refit it without famnying about. Hardee's bit is unplugging the electrical connector

My fanny flaps seem to be parting leaving a gaping bucket hole, it’s like putting a cocktail stick in a 205L barrel

Fitted a new turbo, what a pain to get to one nut for the oil return pipe, welded up all the holes and unleashed a fook load of underseal on everything forgot to get pictures, just got to turn the eml off and tidy the back up then hopefully mr yellow crayon man can fit me in tomorrow or Tuesday for the annual how much damage have pot holes caused test

Anyone notice that the mk7 seems to have a software glitch. Throttle about 2k revs and it has the odd miss fire think I've had nearly all mk7 with it

I’ve noticed a weird occurrence in 5th around 2k revs when or after rain that the engine kind of bounces and the gear stick shakes, so annoying

While it didn't happen today, it did happen since the first period I was more active writing in here, back in january-february this year, when my beloved mk7 decided not to start anymore, and I got my first semester at "Ford Transit Forum University"

It turned out well, and the van has been a continued delightful drive the past 6 months and 20k kms or so, with the odd fix here and there.

I really have this community and resource in very large part to thank for it! So thank you very very much! Love this place!

Anyway, what happened since, was that during the downtime of my mk7 (and I make my living primarily from having running vans) I was feeling the need for another van in the "fleet" to lean on. I stumbled upon a cheapish, older, more worn but otherwise identical mk7 online, which also came with a parts van, and just went for it. So now my favourite van gets to have some relatives to hang with as well! It made sense as I had spent a lot of time getting to know and understand the model already.

One is blue and one is red, me and the missus call them "Bluey" and "Bingo" heheh. very cute

A bit later I came across an old 3.2L 5cyl mk7 "Luton box" being auctioned, and just gave into my impulse once again, so now I have a whole family of mk7 transits! What a delight! Also a bit of a time consuming "hobby", but every fix and improvement gives some satisfaction, and I really believe cars should get as long a life as they can. Hopefully I manage to keep them all on the road for a good few years
