EEV-V is PWM/SCP compliant and will work on some OBD2 scanners.

EEV-IV is not OBD2 compliant in the true sense of the word, there is a good post on EEV-IV on http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/obd2a.htm however.....

very true some ECU's I can get live readings with no codes or sometimes PIDs are missing but most times you can get something out - black oak and particularly DCL cause me the most problems :D

I knew I had some.... These are unused and boxes simple code readers for the early 5 pin EEC IV ECU

Box says coverage includes:

2.0 Cosworth 1986-90, 4x4 1990-92
Escort, Orion 1986-90 (1.6 CVH)
Sierra 2.0 OHC, 2.8 1986, 2.9 V6 non-catalyst
Granada 2.0 OHC, 2.4 V6 non-cat, 2.8 1986, 2.9 V6 non-catalyst
Transit 2.0 OHC CFI/EFI, 2.9 V6 EFI non-catalyst (this is 1986- and 1992- model according to the manual).

It includes a manual with the appropriate fault codes, instructions, etc.

I have quite a few, so if they would be of any use to any forum members I am happy to let them go cheaply - say £4.00 + P&P (£3.00). Just drop me a PM, payment would have to be by PayPal to make life easy

I would have thought they could be adapted for the three-pin also, but don't quote me on that!

Might be quite a useful period tool for some of you?

I had a very similar conversation with another user on PM...

I think it probably uses the EEC-IV system, but the best source of information is probably
