M5 wheels on my Mk6

Had a good drive of the van today. Checked the wheel nuts a fair few times, with no loosening issues what so ever.
One thing I have noticed, is it tram-lines extremely bad now. So I will do the alignment on it at work Monday, and see if there are any changes.

Road noise had increased, as has the hardness of the ride.
But road holding and steering response has improved.

I've thought about lowering it, but I think I will leave it for the time being, as I don't fancy doing the SPUA mod. I'd rather keep the spring on top, for safety/weight etc.

May look into moving the stub axles up a little bit, or other than that, making some customer shackles for the leafeys.


Front end, will look at some lowering springs, or even getting mine out and shortening them, depending on how the top and bottom coils sit in the cups.

Even the "factory" 18's tend to catch the lorry ruts, anything with a wider track on these has that effect. Mpg usually suffers too if they stick out.

My next step is to widen the arches as they are knocking on for being a tug with the feds / VOSA.

Few ideas, but not sure what I want to do yet.
One of the guys I work with is a panel beater / sprayer. He's suggested buying 4 replacement arches, and stitching them on further down. It will not only be a wider arch mod, but a virtual vehicle drop too, as it'll close up the arch gap a bit.

Other option is plastic clip on arches, but I'm going to need something a little bigger than ST ones I think?
