Mine has covered nearly 6k miles now so mine must be alright. :D

Have you had a look on the dash clocks to see if they can give you a diagnostic trouble code?

If you don't know how to do it, switch off the ignition and press down and hold the trip reset button. Start the van and wait until the display says "GAGE". You can let go then (all the dash gauges will flick over to full deflection and back). You can then scroll through various live data (including actual vehicle speed, fuel level, coolant temp to mention a few) by pressing the trip button repeatedly until the screen displays DTC. this will then show up as "NONE" or give you a code if there is a stored fault. Leave it on this screen and drive it a little to see what happens.

As Daz says above NONE means there are no fault codes stored!

No point even bothering with the DTC check using the reset button, a fault on the instrument cluster isn't a likely cause of a idle concern

Interesting.

Did they give you any more details on this?

I've seen Focus vehicles forget the injector correction factors but never a Transit or Mondeo.

we all yours missing or just a few characters out of place?

I believe what you are saying, but it doesn't make sense to me :(

Each injector delphi make has a unique 16 character alphanumeric code on the body, that code is whats known as an correction factor. In basic terms it tells the PCM all about the injector so it knows how much fuel flows through it in a given time. this is needed to allow the system to compensate for wear in the injectors.
You can't just take the numbers off 1 injector and apply it to another and the chances of findng 4 of these 16 digit codes which work with 4 others is very very small indeed.....i'd liken that to wining the euro lottery twice!

If this bit is done wrong, you could easily kill the engine!!!

The service techs should have updated the PCM to the latest calibration file and checked ICF's before they involved FMC technical, I'm thinking that the field engineer who attended has got hold of a newly updated calibration file and reset the entire system.

WDS disc B41 has just entered circulation.....i'm wondering if it's on that, i've not had time to look at it yet.

Main thing is your vehicle is well again and your happy, so i'm happy too
