Well i'm a marine engineer and i would rather be in a submarine with someone who can do the job rather than have a load of qualifications on paper and have fancy title but never swung a spanner

When Andy and I were little girls and mechanical pumps were king
That may of been what a engineer was
But thanks to the likes of bt sky and those who dispatch operatives to peoples homes

It sounds better to say an engineer will be with you shortley
Than " put a lock on your knickker draw luv theres some perv coming to fix you phone"
Hence now we call anyone an engineer really

Funnily enough, the driver's side electric window has packed up on Mrs PDQ's otherwise very reliable '99 Passat, I'm thinking why not put a manual one on, you're sitting next to the f"*%ing thing for christ's sake, and I can crank one down with a winder faster than the electric one works anyway, a needlessly over complicated piece of sh*t, which saves you no time, however it seems they never made one with a winder, so I suppose I'll have to give in and fix it then.

Yes, but submarines have to stand a much more extreme environment ( much higher pressure difference) than either aeroplanes or spaceships do, you want the guy in the shirt and tie doing the maths, who designed it in the first place to be really f*%?ing good at his job . No matter how good the man with the spanners is, if the design is flawed, you're gooched.
