from reading up on these to get a full picture of these pistons

a believe the 2,2 and the 2.4 are timed differently (the compression stoke )

but am looking for a 115 piston to make things clear

what we need here is a 115/140 ps front wheel drive piston

ive edited it as these will be at mania for everyone to see

High quality specialist engineering tools have arrived :-)

Wonder if they'll snap on the first go of undoing the solenoid?

Certainly are :-)

But i didn't have a 27mm spanner:-(
But i did find an adjustable spanner 8) but the solenoid was barely more than finger tight

So i stripped a bit more of the injector.

Need to double check this but I'm sure the ball side is meant to face up and not the flat side :? Whether it can move when undoing I'm not sure, otherwise the injectors have been played with before, it would explain why when the 4 were fitted it would start properly and sounded like no exhaust

Dont forget the 200 :!:

Part number -7C16-9K546-AB
Other number - 95000-662
Nozzle Number - DLLA151P955 ( one for Tim to decode  )

Only got snippets of data ( from Panda Diesels machine ) but so far at 1000 microseconds pulse width which is the max their machine tests at there are increased levels for the 200 Injectors compared to the BC type & comparing BC to the lower power AC type , slightly less again.

200 injectors also flow higher in a "midrange" test , (at 800 microseconds) compared to the ones fitted to lesser output models..

The pulse width used in the engine is up to & around 1400 microseconds on all types & is similar across the models so no way of comparing absolute max delivery yet until tested on a rig that can apply 1400 or more microseconds pulse width but looking at the Panda data so far , as expected, a higher power rating per cylinder engines uses injectors that physically produces more fuel..

'Low Flow' injectors have DLLA153P884 Nozzles, these are 7 x 0.12 x 153
'High Flow' injectors have DLLA153P885 Nozzles, these are 7 x 0.15 x 153

Sorry Martyn, can't find a 'pattern' nozzle cross reference for these, yet :!:
I guess that this suggests that the pattern nozzle manufacturers don't consider there is a large enough market for these.

I will email our supplier the nozzle number and see what they come up with, my pdf catalogue is not necessarily 'up to date'.

However, the '151' part of the code shows that these nozzles do have a 'tighter' spray pattern, allowing for slightly more injection advance to be employed in the fueling map, or the combustion chambers in the 200 pistons have a smaller diameter.

Provided that the 200 nozzles do have a larger cross sectional area than the 'high flow' units they would work well as an 'upgrade' in 4cyl injectors.

So Why is a service engine listed as the same part number on Ecat ?
All Euro4 2.2's are listed as the same part no's, the only difference being 'New for Old' or 'Reman'.
Not disputing the original pistons possibly being slightly different, just saying ford only list one service engine/short block for the 2.2 Euro 4's.

Are you saying that the 85ps 2.2 engine is in fact the same engine as the 140 2.2 Dan?
:-)

I've read that the 85ps doesn't have oil coolers, could the different numbers be the same engine but with the extra bits or maybe revised numbers?

i think we should all club together and buy 2 broken engines and strip the b*stards down and measure the lot

Ecat Lists
1596577 / 9C1Q-6011-AA 2.2L from 17-04-2006 (85ps, 110ps, 130ps & 140ps)

If i could remember how to post pics i'd have attached the screenshot.

So Ford Certainly list all 2.2 euro 4 engines with exactly the same part numbers. This is all found using my genuine Ecat subscription, so it's all correct and up-to-date.

hi dan do you have any measurements :!:

surley you would have them needing pistons blocks etc

the 85ps piston ?

As i already said, I'm not disputing the potential difference in Piston sizes. I don't have any about to measure or we could clear this question up.
I'm only commenting on the fact Ford list all service blocks and Engines as the same part number.
It is possible the original engines were all different, then ford decided to streamline all their service engines to one that suited all... I don't know, but they're listed to suit all now.
