Had her out today. Power wise, it seems no different, if not underpowered. Doing my head in.

is it worth me sending the 115 ones off for testing? Im also thinking of trying to find a 125 and robbing the injectors off that. I take it the 125 turbo wouldnt fit? Can the compressor be swapped?

I remember you saying you had experimented with 125 stuff? Martyn has said he can do me a postal map for good money but want to get the most i can for my buck....

Questions.

is it worth me sending the 115 ones off for testing?

What was it you did?

How hard is it going to be to find a 125 04> transit?

Will the looms be the same do you know?

Really greatful for the help youve gave mate much appreciated. I owe you a beer. :D

Sean, just out of interest, what affect would advancing/ retarding the fuel pump timing have>? I mean just that fraction of alteration you have on the sprocket bolts.

MIne starts bang on 1st time.... Just curious tbh.

Ive blanked the egr and knocked the cat out too. Just though would have had a touch more oomph.

Gareth :D

the only way to get more turbo performance is fit a VNT (1.7bar) then that would mean mondeo PCM route.........

remeber with a turbo diesel you canhave all the boost and air you want but without the fuel and correct timing to suite wont gain anything from it.

the 2.4 125ps's were replaced with the 2.4 115ps's same torque though, and prob go just as good if not better with them being the newer models. Plus the 115ps's will be more closely matched in terms of wiring to your same model 85ps of 04>.

sometimes knocking the cat out wont make a big diffrence unless a straight through pipe is used, if it has made a noticable difference then it was prob badly restricted, but without the cat there remapping can make bigger gains.

cheers sean.. So im best just to try find a 115 ps transit pcm then and get it coded.... MOndeo wiring is a nightmare without the diagrams.... Also... Will a 115 pcm re-map the same results as my 85 pcm or is the software different? Just wondering if im gonna get a re-map anyway is it worth the hassle.

well a good remap from www.vantuner.com will certainly be an improvement, over a standard PCM so say an 85ps was remapped to 115ps it would feel and drive a lot better than the standard 115ps.
but a 115ps remapped is more fun :D

adjusting the sprocket will just give loud diesel knock and drop power, it needs to be spot on for the control unit on the pump to do its job fully.

right im with you mate. When i set the timing i used 6mm pins as usual . hOW DO YOU GET IT PERFECT THO?

I had the pump sorocket bolts loose and let the tensioner take p the strain and tightened them up,, It does sound sloughtly louder than before. I suppose its eay enough to alter then change back... Bolts are in the center of the cut outs...

So finding a 115 ps pcm will be better..

I have also learned that the mondeo turbo with the 90 on it may be better than the tranny one with 100 on it... May be worth fitting the mondeo turbo.

Has any one ever tried fitting a vaux leh turbo to a trannny? IVE GOT A SPARE IN THE SHED TO PLAY WITH :D
