thats not the type im thinking of, the ones ive seen look more like standard ford keys that read the barrel in one hit, then you have another key with interchangeable plates which you build up to the lock pattern, and away you go..

I think BJT was pointing out that even the 'higher' security Garrison locks can be picked with a tool available over the net.

whatever lock can de picked i have a lime green van so no one would want to pinch it anyway  but i would of thought you need to do away with the one door lock altogether perhaps disconnect it fasten the rod :?: from it to a central locking motor happen :?: and then connect that to a simple 2 channel remote for emergencies would only cost about a tenner :x its a long shot but it just might work
bit of a spakker though :D

On one of my early vans not sure which model it was. The wire on the positive side of the coil was taken to a switch hidden under the dash and then back to the coil. One morning going to work i noticed my van had moved of the drive. The barrel was broken off. The drivers window was wound down. I had padlocks on the inside of the doors which were prized off. But they could not start it, it would turn over with the switch off but will not fire.
The police were called and showed up very interested, finger printed the whole van. Then told me the village post office was done over and the safe was taken. Must of delayed them for a while. A local builders van was stolen and found dumped later that day. Must do something with this van.

them lock picks have been around for years which is one reason why the older transits were stolen so easily and stuff like escorts and sierras were even easier to steal with no factory immobilisor...And any pro car thief can take even the newest cars after a short time of looking at the wiring diagram which is avalable from manufactors or haynes this includes alarms and locks so not difficult for them to quickly work out how to steal the cars/vans... oh and mk6 can be taken just as quick as mk7 if you know how and most of the scrap yards will know how as well..

I used to have pics of my dogs on my old van but then realised people know what they are worth so my current van does not advertise there are dogs in it. They can have the van but dont take my dogs. Mine is Sublime as well so hopefully they wont want to take it. Off to Crufts this weekend so will be keeping an eye on the van. Luckily the hotel allows the dogs in the room so they wont be in it during the night
