I had the pump sorocket bolts loose and let the tensioner take p the strain and tightened them up,, It does sound sloughtly louder than before. I suppose its eay enough to alter then change back... Bolts are in the center of the cut outs...

So finding a 115 ps pcm will be better..

I have also learned that the mondeo turbo with the 90 on it may be better than the tranny one with 100 on it... May be worth fitting the mondeo turbo.

Has any one ever tried fitting a vaux leh turbo to a trannny? IVE GOT A SPARE IN THE SHED TO PLAY WITH :D

thats what i thought about the turbo, as it was on a 115ps, and the 09020 is for both 90ps and 15ps, and the 11520 turbo is for the 115tdci and 130tdci.

wont hurt to try i suppose.. There was some oil in the boost pipe so the seals may be on there way on the 115?

Been on a long run today, what i have noticed is that there is very slight diesel knock (very slight) and i only getting 70ish miles to 20quid where as i was getting 108 before?

The timing was set up perfect with regards to pins etc.... Is it always spot on when done this way? Brass tabs were with the notches.

Cheers

Gareth

dont worry about the turbo unless theres a lot of oil, a bit is normal to pass the seals as the turbo heats and cools the way it does.

the timing can be funny, but as long as tensioner is good and you rotated engine by hand to double check after tighteneing sprockets should be ok, ive done it a few times rotated engine slightly and been out a touch and had to rectify, but normally valve timing though, if fuel pump was out at all youd get more diesel knock.

Cheers sean. The pump timining seemed spot on tbh mate, was just a thought... Wonder if the 115 injectors need cleaning?> Or maybe overfueling? Ive got a wideband lambda i may rig up and have a look. Its a innovate lc1 so can data log too.

Ill try the other turbo and see how it goes. My feckin crank seal is leaking now too :x

Also a guy on tyhe other forumn replied with with this.. so may well be that my van and the mondeo has different flys? Way have to measure the distance between the teeth.

no theres only 3 in total

Late 03>07 TDCI 2.0 and 2.2 are a little diffrent but can be used IE 2.2 DMF will fit on the 2.0

Early TDCI/TDDI 00>03 use the same ( Cam Sensor diffrent placement bigger gaps )

not sure about the transit DMF but i would of though it uses the 2.2DMF

What you recon?

the only mk6 transits that have DMF as standard are all 2.4 RWD,

FWD side
THE EARLY 2000-2002 100PS fwd'S had them fitted as its tddi had the 10mm pickup teeth fitted,
Then in 2002 125tdci was introduced, and DMF was fitted to that and also 5mm pickup teeth as its a TDCI.
The 100ps 2002 onwards were then fitted with solid that is the exact same flywheel as all the early 75ps's later 85ps's. As they are all Tddi have the 10mm pickup teeth for the crank sensor.

Cheers for clearing that up Sean. So basically if the mondeo has 5mm teeth or isitthegap between them? Then that could well be my prob. How hard is it to swap the fly wheel on a tranny? Easier to drop the box? Or could you fool the PCM in some way?

i wouldnt bother Tbh if it was wrong it wouldnt start or just fire once then stop.
But you can just take starter of to check pickups easily. and see if its a DMF.

if the teeth were 5mm tdci then it wouldnt run as it is now, you are using it normally now arnt you :?:

I've just put the 85 pump and PCM on mate. The guy in the thread I posted had exactly the same symptoms as me. He said it started, revved up etc then died bang on 5-8secs. Exactly the same.. Just a thought. I'll check the mondy pickup tomoz. So is it easier to whip the tranny box off to swap?

If it oaths case, what solid type 5mm fly would I use? Would the.n just be wiring

the tdci mondeos are 5mm pickups same as the transit tdcis,
i know this 100% are identical flywheels.

So if the tddis and tdci mondeos had the same pickup teeth, then that would mean 5mm pickups.
so it wouldnt run for as long as it does :?
or am i missing something :?:

The thing is when someone has a car in a garage (like the guy on the mondeo forum), what they say and what has actually happend, can be 2 different things.
