just did a "dvd" test with fully charged battery,- after 2 hrs continuos play it had 19% remaining! so, in better condition than i thought.
should be ok as long as "ids"program doesn`t suck more juice than playing a dvd!?

Does anybody use this on mk6's. I'm tempted to invest in the wireless v86 version for use mainly on my own mk6 350 pickup. Just wondered how it performs before I bite the bullet

hi Loot, so the "pcm" does not require update because the "pump/pilot learns" are no different(or very close) to whenever it was last done(if ever) is that right?

just wondered if the message about "service tool not updated " is preventing me going any further!

Pump learns and other service functions don't require calibrations or ids updates.
Pcm update/Module installation or reprogramming does look for stored calibration and over the internet.(web lookup is a bit sketchy for me tho)
Your vcm will constantly tell you to update it but since it is a clone don't worry about it,
When you go to module reprogramming/pcm, ids will either see if your pcm number is the latest or whether there is an update, and will advise you what to do.
Stored calibrations are c81 which is late 2012 so any visits to Ford after that will update to a later calibration and your tool will say no available updates.

There's other stuff but I won't bore you lol.

i was thinking that the "pcm update",-that was when the "learn`s" data was sent to the pcm!
so strictly speaking, if you know you have the latest "pcm"update available already-you can ignore that part and simply do the pump/pilot learn`s
i have an awful lot to learn obviously :D

Pump and pilot learn isn't relevant to pcm update but, if you do a pump learn then a pcm update, you'll need to do the pump learn again.
(Think of it like installing say windows 7 over exp, you still have to do windows update)

thanks, Loot

oh,and you can throw as much boring stuff my way as you like(regarding ids). i want to be able to master most of it if not all.
then hopefully i will be able to offer my services to others.

Yeah, they work on Mk 6, although on Mk 6 all you really do is read codes and program new fuel pumps ;)

Still worthy buying one then. From what I've seen they still work out cheaper than a transit compatible universal diag machine or code reader and much more useful. I need to get 2 transits plugged in ASAP. which will end up costing a good whack what could of gone towards buying my own. Unfortunately haven't got time to wait for postage
