 name they pay me in vcm's
Ironically my second vcm was flat lining while doing limbacks van, I'm hoping it was a power issue otherwise I'll be on my third 1

So with that said, I have to say to everyone that you buy a vcm and hope it lasts, but don't expect it to last forever, it will pay for itself over and over but I don't think they are made out of quality materials.
I'll have a look at my vcm2 number 1 and reflow the solder and if that fixes it then I'll make a how to.

Hmmm, might be calling on your services too mate.

Just bought a new laptop, so when it arrives I'll be using the old one for the diagnostics.

Still haven't had a bill from DHL for cutoms. I reckon it's cause anything under $40 doesn't pay duty which is why the chinese invoice says "sample ony value $37" on it.....we'll see.... :?

Just having a play with the new toy. Hit a snag if anybody's online to help.
Clicked on Ids and it's came up waiting for windows network services. What have I f*###ed up?

The engine needs to reach the operating temperature for the pump/pilot learn, IDS will guide you through that.

It takes a while though, maybe 30–45 minutes if you start with a cold engine.

Just did it first time a couple of weeks ago late at night and pissed off all the neighbours.
Didn't have a clue how long it would take when I started

I did the same doing some stuff on mine,
Turbo tests at 11pm are not really appreciated apparently

Haha. Best time of day for us men to mess tho. I ain't planning nothing that loud. Just fancied another play and maybe try to set a speed limiter make the motorway driving a bit more comfy. Seeing as cruise control isn't an option on mk6.
Anybody online to give me heads up then. Have I ballsed it up already, do I need to uninstall and reload?

I've installed it and had it running once few days ago. Just took it out box and won't load up now. Saying it needs to connect to windows network services

network services is a windows thing, IDS uses it for talking to the VCM Ive had it a couple of times, and now going to recommend a tried and tested 'IT' remedy for you

turn it all off!
shut it down then start it back up again, with for the PC to fully get up to speed, plug in VCM and then open IDS, if it still comes up then you can go into 'task manager' to stop IDS fully then reopen program,
its worked for me in the past,

hope this helps
