Been driving the combo about testing it. Asbo is in the lair, I think the sump needs redoing there's a bad leak and I know 1 of the bolts has snapped and the seal is gone.

Also it has that blow and also the eml is on.

I am tempted to remove the engine and check it out. Likely the new chain is cheap junk or the exhaust is blocked up. Maybe even the exhaust gasket or something.

But I'm not feeling the love for it either as the rust is coming through. :(
Winter project maybe?

Few days later started getting same probs at 1.00am then it just chucked..... turns out it was the starter motor short that was fookin the relay..... had new in stock and with me easy sort

I like your style, carrying certain spares just incase, have you got spare wheel bearings as well after last time.

Well Asbo has been sat in the lair for some weeks, it has been dripping oil and made a 1 foot diameter patch, I'm rather vexed. Anyway I bought a new sump and there was 1 bolt sheared which on first go was a sphincter but today with a strong centre punch I got it out, I used a nut and bolt on it.

Used this orange gasket stuff called copper something. Let's hope the leak has stopped although I have a suspicion that it is from the oil cooler that I removed. Bloody Asbo

Managed to get another year's MOT on our Mk6 "Bertha" yesterday after lots of work and money to the weldy man (and I think a rather relaxed MOT tester....)

I'll take it though - no complaints here!
