If you can find it, Ford had the grand idea of putting the turbo heat shield over it

I'm pretty sure that the later Mk6's didn't have a pollen filter, my 2004 certainly didn't :)

Doesn’t matter now. Even if I do find it I can’t afford to replace it now: Resident parking permit last year £130… this year £195  For that money we get streets with bike lanes designed using crayons, parking spaces removed on each corner to make way for temporary taxi ranks (double yellows to the rest of us), EV charging spaces for the rich, Southern Gas digging up the road every 6 months and twice a year having your whole street closed off for youtubers to film some influence likes.

I got a local mobile garage to service my 2005 last year and they turned up with a pollen filter, but he said it didn't have one.

He was a bit confused as I assume he had done a registration look up before he came and must have been told it had one.

Thanks Al, that makes a bit more sense!

Either that or he couldn’t find it, you have to remove the metal heat shield under the windscreen then look up if it has one it’ll be there behind a plastic door, but as said they stopped putting them in.

Replaced the rear hub oil seal and gasket along with brake pads which had become saturated in rear axle oil.

Oil filter and oil is a must, air filter if it is bone dry and nearly white /yellow then it may do with a blow out, fuel filter if it looks old ams rusty or chugs.

Pollen filter well, I wouldn't put it as a requirement really.

On the custom there's a pollen filter or a smelly air filter option depending on whether you have hay fever or an oversion to stinky air.

Won't bother your van either way I'm sure.

funnily enough, I'm having a new screen fitted tomorrow, only got a small chip, but the main bulk of the heated elements don't work anymore, and i also want the screen with the bit that holds a rear view mirror

£230 supplied and fitted, and no, my insurance doesn't cover screens, not sure how that compares to others as its just a fitter I've always used

Cabin filter on MK6 was a dealer retro fit kit. Very rare to see now. ~20 years ago I changed only few filters.

Last night a tooth came adrift from the pinion gear in the diff, extracted said rogue tooth at the side of the road, too other cracked teeth ready to follow suit. Tried to see if they'd come out but despite being loose the seamed retained, so buttoned it up and headed for home.
Today I dragged out original diff from van that's been stored since swapping everything from the first van as it's a higher ratio than the front I'm using.
I've since found that the ranger also has a very similar ratio to this one so instead of trying to find a good used 3.73 rear, I've just bought a complete ranger diff and drive shafts with 3.5 ratio for less than folk are trying to sell rear axles

So prepped the axle, removed hubs as I'm swapping them for the ones I've just put disks on, had issues with one hub nut picking up on the threads but having two axles the other one came off ok so we're all good, cleaned up threads and replaced hub seals. Should of put new hub bearings in I suppose but these seam ok for now, maybe a job for another day.
Anyway best get on and hopefully finish before midnight

Gave her her 1st bath in a year, despite todays lil trip not going to plan, least she’s gleaming again..
Feels like the clutch is failing again, she’s holding back when you floor it, revs go up but speed doesn’t, she revs sweetly with clutch pressed in
