Cheers for info.
I'll check plugs.
Might explain why it was fine this morning for 1st 5 mile then comes back on everytime it starts.

I actually cut the original multi plug off and replaced it with a weatherproof one with rubber seals in it
I remember seeing on youtube a transit with dodgy fuel gauge and that was multi plugs clipped to passenger chassis leg.
Did blast mine with wax oil but that was years ago.
Raining at home and still snow on site so cant get under van to look yet.

and here is anudder question! Does it pass the MOT with the 4x4 mods and have you had to notify DVLA as i thought an MOT tester may not pass it ?

Been through 2 MOTs now nothing mentioned.
Only asked if it was full time 4wd as that makes a difference on the brake tester.
Check with insurance and they were not concerned and didn't cost any more as long as everything is listed.
And when they asked if these mods would make it go faster, I said "it actually makes it go slower" They seamed happy enough at that.

There are no structural modifications to the shell or chassis members since it's a bolt on conversion so there's no difference to the V5c, and no modifications to the suspension components.

Same thing I do everyday. Wake up, coffee, procrastinate, put on 6 layers, go fix the van. Happy it started up in the cold after two weeks sitting there. Wasn’t first time though and a lot of grey smoke that went after a while.

Mk7 should have a pull up section to stop it shifting into reverse,
If you unscrew the knob there should be a sliding section and a spring on top. Someone may of put it back together the wrong way with the spring on the bottom

Decided to look at why my new reversing camera wasn't sensing when I was in reverse and why the same cluster it is fed from is erratic with lights. I assumed the Haynes manual was wrong and I had picked the wrong cable for reverse.

After checking with a multimeter, it turns out it was the right cable, and once I got rid of the scotchlok I originally used and soldered the two together, the reverse cam is now switching.

However, the side light wasn't working. I messed around with the cable grip and it started working. Put it all back together and now the reverse light (which was working when loose from the lens) doesn't work although my camera is still fine. I assume the connector at the top of the light cluster needs completely removing and cleaning up but the dinner bell was ringing so I think I'll leave it for another day....Grrrr!

touched up the paint on the MK6 outer sills and door closures and any udder chips that needed a dab of paint. Prepped the inner sills and blew them over with a thick coating of black schultz stone chip.

Fitted a new aftermarket ignition barrel and key to the MK7 as the original was a pig to remove. Fitted a cheap £8 steering wheel cover too as the steering wheel is a bit shiny and hard to grip. Pondering the fitment of all terrain tyres to all 6 rims

Working through the MOT advisories. One was rear brake discs worn and corroded, pads wearing thin. Had a nightmare trying to free up rusted hub. Managed to damage a stud. Ordered new hubs only to find that the studs come out quite easy and replacements are available. Doh! Then I have measured the discs and pads. Pads have over 60% and discs are scabby but seem to have lots of life in them. I wont be going back to that garage again.
