Euro crap part eh, what make starter is it. N

It was the cheapest with a years cover RTX is the make and bench tested sometimes the solenoid would work but the main motor refuses to turn and it sparks like it's seized

Silly question but are the batteries good and all connections and earth points ok?

Sent from my anu5 using crapatalk

The batteries are good and I was getting 12v at the starter wiring and 12v at the switched connector

But if the connections ain't good then you can still get 12v but not enough to throw the starter it could always be just a eurocrappart

It's my wiring as I made a jumper cable to power up both terminals out the van and it worked. the old starter was damaged inside so it needed replaced anyways so just a wiring investigation now. Ned £58 after discount weekend35

 flexible or metal pipe. N

My guess where the metal pipe goes under the chassis leg to the flexible. I had the wheel off the day before and at the mot starting pissing out

Yep metal pipe

Good guess brains

Now do I go buy the tools, pipe and nuts and replace the pipe myself or just get the mechanic to do it. Going to need the mechanic out anyway to bleed it all

Ordered a flaring tool this morning, same type that Karl recommended in Blues brake pipe thread and that should be here tomorrow.
Going to nip to Halfrauds later when the mrs gets back with the car to get some 3/16" copper as it's half the cost of the eurocarparts one and it's the same size roll.
Also going to have to venture into the garage to try and find my mini pipe benders

If yr careful you can usually get fairly tight bends by hand.
Use a rag to drag out the pipe once you uncoil it go get it straighter before starting to make up your sections, and leave the last bend closest to the end till you've put on the ferule and crimped it if the bends close to the end.

And most importantly remember to put the fitting on the pipe BEFORE you flare the end as I've found the don't fit on once you have

I'm pretty sure my mini benders only go down to 6mm and the bends won't be particularly tight either. I'll practice a couple by hand
