I made a permanent phone charger in the van while I waited on the ferry. Cost less than one green note worth 100 pennies and an old data cable from programing machines
Image
Then on the way down the road I managed to tip my large tub of olive oil balsamic vinegar I was prepairing (while retreaving the seasoning for said dipping dressing) all over the cab of the van from the top of the dash above the radio where I thought it was safe all down the radio, heater controls, little dash pocket next to gear stick has collected some, the middle seat the floor and my laptop bag
Needless to say the van now smells like an artisan chip shop
Some deep cleaning required me thinks... But not tonight still an hr+ from home

Swore cursed swore a bit more taught my daughter some new swear words but did find the source of an unusual sensation from the van at 50mph like driving on a cobbled street. The sodding tyre blew out coming off the A55 onto the 483 typically it went as I approached the lights so had to limp it to somewhere safe. That's when the fun started picture the scene it's dark no torch and i can't get the damn spare out after removing the bolt. So i did what all good got no idea mechs do a well known video site that was no bloody good undo bolt cable releases, does it balls. So using the magnificent phone torch app an idea crosses my tiny mind and eventually worked out how to get the wheel only took me an hour 10 minutes replacing the wheel.

I had the brake pad warning light come on a couple of times in the last week, so today I pilled all the wheels off, one by one, and found all the pads were fine. It's been 27k miles since I had the whole lot replaced, and there seams to be plenty of pad material left all round.

At some point I'll have to go hunting for the electrical fault that's causing the warning light to come on. Can anyone tell me the circuit direction? Which wheel does it start at? Also, has anyone else has a brake warning light only intermittently? What was the issue in your case?

Just to rub it in for you blokes in the snow, this is where I was working today, 21 degrees and sunny in Sicily.

Why don't you just bridge pin 15 and 18 at the speedo? That will remove the pad wear sensor warning permanently. It will require a visual inspection of the pads every year or so though.

in any case the wire goes from the
speedo pin 15 to
Rear Left Hand
Rear Right Hand
Front Left Hand
Front Right Hand
Ground point 31
56 350 2.2 130ps mk7 with 2 side doors 8)
65 290 2.2 125ps custom with 2 side doors 8)
07 350 170ps

I really should do this as well as my pad warning light has been on for months (pads are fine) and I've patched up the sensor loom over the back axle 3 times now

I guess I could take to opportunity to fit the high spec clocks I've got as well

Well I've got the high spec clocks, a new temp sensor thing and an info stalk. Not sure if I have the wiring in place for the temp sensor though

I had a quick look earlier and I think I found the plug for the temp sensor, so should be good to go when I have time and there's not snow all over the place
