First small weld done (baby steps and all that)!

Was quite chuffed with that so then went to bleed brakes - nipple sheared straight off… …standard Mk6 day?

Massive amount of chassis welding to do on this van but I’ve got the engine running now so I think I’m in it for the long haul.

I used to find that my steering was stiff to move and suspected that the steering rack was on the way out , but I had a track rod end changed for the m.o.t and the steering is now smooth and with no stiff points :D

Well that was surprisingly easy, fitted the led 3rd brake light, took all of 10 minutes, my van only had the lense and no bulb part, found the wire on the Ford loom in the bottom of the door 8) and it works.

Obviously it’s not lit up in the picture as I can’t press the brake and take the picture at the same time

Pull the brake light switch out the pedal…find this useful when I’m the only idiot available….

Might be calling it quits on the van….not too sure how things are going to go…

Went to read my DTC codes after the van decided to do its annual breakdown and while I was there a guy climbed some scaffolding and broke into a flat by throwing a book at the window. I wouldn’t call the Police response rapid.

I jam a block of wood between the seat and the brake pedal

On my truck I would jam a hammer between peddle and dash
But most trucks have a bulb check feature so Press a button and it cycles though all the lights

I had something similar on my 1988 Sierra Ghia, but my Focus TitaniumX (with a whole host of "toys" and warnings, has nothing to tell me the brake lights aren't working - That's progress for you

Only the p’d off motorist who just rammed you as he didn’t know you was braking…
Imagine bmw drivers who see that weird flashing green arrow on the dash feel, they think there’s a bulb gone so never use that switch 8)

Sounds like the bmw in front of me this morning, think he/she got confused what that stalk did, indicated right and turned left lol have you noticed bmw now look like they have bunny teeth with that stupid massive grills.

My old S reg iveco had the bulb test feature, only used it once.

I normally ask er indoors or one of the children to press the brake but they all said no, checked them in the paint shop window this morning, all lights working.

I checked mine were all good , took it for m.o.t and two were out , Transit logic . B.M.W s need a switch to check the drivers awake , seen numerous ones go right round a roundabout with no indicators and the more high performance the car the most worn tyres it will have . :(
