What's in this kit? I just used some metal polish that I had in the garage

This is the kit I bought,

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154470700312 ... BMrqulzp1g

2x 800 grit sandpaper, 2x 1200 grit and 2x 2000 grit, a polishing sponge, drill adapter, 2x polishing compound and 2x uv protection fluid, it was a bit daunting sanding the lenses down but they came out quite well, I took the light units off the van and did them in the garden, bit messy though.

Did the metal polish work?

Yes, they weren't perfect but certainly much brighter. I had already tried toothpaste, and that didn't really improve them much. I wasn't bold enough to try the abrasive paper!

Just fixed a water leak, turned up to collect my engine and there was a puddle under it
Thought it was a crack in the joiner piece in the oil cooler pipework. But nope, just put a new jubilee clip on it an topped up coolant. Seams to be ok now,
Can't of been leaking for long as bottle still had coolant in it. Image

Got fed up of looking at my van sat in the garden, and decided to take a look and see if it can be saved from the scrap heap...

Did some welding of patches around the rear o/s wheel arch before attempting to fit the inner and outer arch, and inner/outer sill. Patched up a few nasty holes, but then found that the chassis member, at the rear, was rotted through... Im now of the opinion that the van isnt worth welding up... pic of piece in the photos.. all of the metalwork around the part is toast as well... :?

Anyone else replaced this part ?

However, another look, with fresh eyes makes me think its terminal rot in the o/s corner. Floor has gone, chassis rail needs a fair bit of fettling... and the section I mentioned is rotten as a pear, and needs chopping out. Thing is, theres little good to weld it back on to...

This guy has the same rust issues as I do... great set of 4 videos, and he fabs all the parts from scratch.

I don’t see anything there that isn’t fixable given what you've already done - ask me how I know

Just tried to see the van gets under a car park barrier with the roof rack and it does with about 2mm to spare. Someone actually stopped to watch and clapped 8)

To be honest, I dont have the time, or confidence to pull it off... Ive so many projects on the go, and the missus wants an extension built as well... :?
