Gave it a birthday of fresh oil and filters, hopefully do the ARB bushes, alternator clutch and Gbox oil tomorrow if it arrives.

Also need to investigate the blend door actuator as the AC is not as cold as I'd expect but it's better when first started than once it's warmed up.

I replaced my steering rack as my old one failed and pissed fluid past the seals into the gators

Here is the thread incase anyone in future needs a how to on removing the steering rack without unbolting the subframe and so on as it is a bit of a puzzle..

MoT today - a pass!

Advisories - 3 for front brakes, new discs and pads will sort all 3, and a slightly noisy front wheel bearing.

Only prep was an oil change and checking all the bulbs (one side light bulb had blown) & horn.

Today I cleaned out the inlet manifold, ports and ducting of all the egr crud that had built up. It's now like new (egr blanked off).

I also took off the intercooler, gave it a rinse out with unleaded and tried for about 2 hours to clean the fins of mud and silt. The history of my ex network rail van, states it was recovered from mud/soft sand twice! Every bit of the chassis and body was full of sand/mud as was the drivers headlamp(replaced), so I shouldn't have been so shocked at the weight of the intercooler as it was solid with no air able to pass through it. A very fine flat screwdriver and my compressor with a fine jet has made a huge difference!

To celebrate 1 year and 45 days of Transit ownership and my birthday I fitted some speakers and have a working stereo :D

It will probably fold in half when I drive it later.

Today I re-attempted (and succeeded) to replace the fuel timing solenoid, what a ballache!

all bolts came out lovely apart from the one torx head on the pump bracket which I had to drill out - I never knew I was a contortionist!

sadly it didn't improve the running, I broke the starter motor and found every little recess of pooled oil which ended up all over me and in my hair. should probably clean the bath now too!

Rolled over 100,000 miles last week while working away from home.
Lad i was working with was van less after he lent his brother his sport and blew it up.
Came home and treated mine to new oil and filters.

Still having problems with starting from cold and the intake temp reading 50c below actual temperature but getting fed up of going places to be told ' theres no codes'
