My van's got a full fiberglass floor lining over chipboard but the step is all cracked through so pulled that out and fixed up the rust. The board was just screwed straight through the steel. Gaps are bigger than I was hoping to cover with a bit of aluminum angle for the step edge... maybe a nice bit of hardwood for the step itself ? It'll be a right pain making anything fit around the mouldings in the steel. I'll try a wreckers for an original plastic step inlay but I'm sure it will be prohibitively expensive.

Always had a leak in the cab from round the front door, got sick of trying to glue and tape up the factory rubber guttering strip. Pulled the A pillar trims off, ordered new clips and cleaned up the rust and resprayed. I'm going to put double sided tape under the trims when they go back on, behind was stuffed full of leaves and debris holding water. Then I'll run a new piece of adhesive rubber trim along the A pillar trim and probably another one on the inside of the door, see if that works

Had all the trim off anyway, cleaned back the rust on the scuttle drain panel should look a lot neater without the rust showing through

What I did today (and yesterday) is gark a large number of knuckles and my head multiple times trying to get the g'box out to do the clutch.
Have only the bellhousing bolts to remove now (salted road bolt damage has been my nemesis!).
But,......... the top one of the two forward facing bellhousing bolts (under the exhaust) has me buggered.
Tighter than a scotsmans wallet and so difficult to get a spanner or socket wrench on.

Anybody have a good (cunning?) tip for getting decent purchase on that 13mm bolt to remove the bugger?

What I may do to my Mk 6 / mk7 tomorrow is ............
.................. set the b*stard on fire

OK. So not going to burn it just yet.

OK. Got the bugger out.
Serial chain of spanners. Who needs that!
And then the gear change cable retainers. That is a neat trick.
For anyone who hasn't, pull the ribbed piece at the rear backwards to release the tines that hold it in the C section.

Cheers and ciao Transit lads
