Didnt see the temp gauge off the scale, until the power dies off due to heat. Couldnt get the expansion cap off, and the insides broke away. Tried to remove it and got me rag off, and forced it inside, so I could top up the water... only to find in pee'ing itself again.
Luckily I was only 3 minutes away from the Ma'in'law's.. Took off the hose, and cut off the end, and refixed. Gave it a run, only to find the radiator is staying cold. So I bought a water pump and replaced it this afternoon. Only to find the radiator wont warm up... so took off the thermostat housing, to find half of the spout still inside the housing. Damn thing has corroded and left part of itself inside the spout. Anyway, tested the thermostat in a pan of boiling water, and it doesnt open. Thats why the rads staying cold. Oh well...
New thermostat housing, expansion tank, cap and new pipe ordered... That was an eventful day...
