What did you do to your mk6/7 today?

Rough sand and rust converter on the cab floor today, the only bad spots were where water was sitting in the foot well but new door seals should prevent this happening again - it's been a few weeks and no leaks in the rain.

Now I was going to give it some zinc rust inhibitor primer, but will that make any difference over the rust converter ? I'll give it a white enamel cover either way.

Is there a secret to cleaning the cab floor mats ? The dirt is really ingrained in the rubber

Sprayed a few sections of the floor with gloss enamel, looks good, hopefully it keeps the rust permanently sealed... Or at least a few years till I have to go beck and treat it again.

I think I'm going to put a full layer of 10mm self adhesive closed cell foam over the floor because driving a diesel transit is so much louder than my everyday car. Has anyone relined their floors for noise cancelling ?

No it's off cuts after we had the bedrooms carpeted its glued (now) to the rubber mat, it is a bit quieter

Looks great but I can't be doing that, van is for camping and the dog will just destroy it with sand and mud

I might look for a fresh sheet of rubber matting

I'm running half marathon tomorrow which includes swimming in a lake /big pond then Sunday I'm running a 5 mile road race up new Brighton.
