gearbox change

Postby tonydb75 » Sun Dec 17, 2006 3:24 pm

Just changed the gearbox cables on my transit but still didn't cure the problem of it being stuck in 1st gear, so thought i'd take a quick look underneath to find a gaping hole in the bottom of it!!!

So my question would be:

Does anyone know the labour time on changing a gearbox?

Its a 2002 transit 260 SWB
front wheel drive, gearbox is a VXT 75, 5 speed transaxle

ouch - bad luck

I'd say about 3 hours if you have the clutch and hydraulic bearing done at the same time - false ecomony not to really
