Central locking problem error b108f

Postby comstech » Tue Jan 15, 2013 10:30 am

Ok quick explanation on what's happening
Central locking will not work for front or back doors so open drivers door with key and start van, idle for a while then turn van off press front unlock the passenger door unlocks press back unlock nothing. Idle van again then turn off and unlock rear doors = ok. Close all doors and try and lock van no go. Idle van for a little while remove key close door and press lock doors all doors lock...
So far I have replaced the aux batt with another second hand one = no difference
Stopped in to a mechanic today and his diag unit shows error b108f Cabin Lock/Unlock Switch <-- any idea's what this exactly means?

Thanks for all suggestions

Sounds like the battery in your fob is crackered, and not holding a charge :?

Arrr forgot to add that one, I cracked my case open and measured the button battery voltage and it was all good. And this was on a day the fob had been no where near the van

Another thing I forgot to mention and not sure if it should or should not
When I unlock the drivers door by key the passenger door does not unlock - not sure if it is meant too - Central locking I would have thought all locks would unlock when I use a key to open drivers door

Can someone please comment on this part
Remember 2006 model

When you say 2006 model, is it a MK6 or a Mk7 :?:

Mk6 is a Transit 2000 model :)
 Have you checked the two inline fuses taped to the loom under the steering column :?:

If it has twin batteries and is generating b codes I reckon it's a Mk 7.

But first things first, have you checked ALL the fuses?

Ok the year is 10/06
I have checked every fuse in the attached pictures, I have removed the plastic surround from around the steering column did not find and in line fuses.
I also remember one other thing some times when I try and relock the car there is a noise from behind the dash and the speedo pull down past 0, if this means anything to anyone. Thanks for the in put so far

Is there a fuse missing in the top right hand group, 4th from the left there is a gap should this be there?

From here it looks like there is only one contact in the empty fuse holder, so no fuse missing

Are you looking at the larger fuses thou, If so I agree. But the smaller ones above that seem to have all contact there.
Apart from that any idea on what to try next on the central locking front. Even thou the van starts ok etc, I am tempted just to go out and buy 2 x new battrey to totally rule out that possibility...

For anyone that was following this the problem has now been resolved.
I made the assumption that the rear batt was the leisure battery, but today after having an auto electrician go over Van the leisure batt is the front battery and it was this batt that was stuffed...

All is now working - crossing fingers

On all MK 7 the rear battery is the start battery, the front battery, where fitted is the Auxiliary battery
