Banana starter on a 2.4 tddi duratorq?

Postby sjs205 » Wed May 01, 2013 4:09 pm

As the question above states, I have a failing starter on a 2002 2.4 tddi... I've got 2 working started motors from 2 of my old bananas that I had to scrap.

Are these parts interchangeable?

The armature , brush box and outer casing with the magnets from your smaller banana starter will exchange if they are original and on some aftermarket ones.Strip down carefully and you may be able to get by.

any mondeo any year as long as it has a 2.0 diesel in it, I think the tddi an ci are the same starter but not the new mondeo with the citroen engine in it

Starter motor completely failed on me last night... So I'm having to do the job now...

Is anyone able to tell me how to get the gearbox/solenoid unit separated from the motor shaft?

See pics:
