Respect your keen spirit for fixing, struggling to go to work at the moment. Knee is really failing now and we've run out of wonder drugs.

It's a schlaag van  In other words does a bit of everything, I've done some building of panels recently, yes still do marquee's in my off week and as my sport is racked out its useless for any work on the house etc etc  Basically I sold my other jumbo to my mate then regretted it as it was a good van and handy having a big empty van so bought another :D

Ok a little update  I've stripped the rocker ladder off and inspected the cams and valve springs and I'm pleased to say there's no wear on the cams or any broken valve springs, so I've inspected the rockers and all the wheels are good with no wear however two inlet rockers seemed quite loose on the hydraulic tappet :? I removed them off the tappet and found the actual tappet heads are quite badly scorn and worn  I tapped them out from the ladder and it would appear the oil gallery feeding those two has been blocked  So I'm on the hunt for somewhere that supplies the hydraulic tappets individually any suggestions ? They look like silver minions btw

Pretty much, obviously lots of bits differ to give the 5cyl but I'm finding it shares a lot of bolt in components, I'm having to think outside the box for some bits as most people havn't ever seen one or heard of one  I get asked if its v6 petrol a lot for some reason  Again this forum and being Transit geeks has helped loads

I had the same problem, popping sound back into the airfilter box.
At first I hoped it would be an easy fix with checking the injector seals.
These are just a small washer really, one local Ford stealer told me they are not available as a separate item but must be bought together with new injectors (yeah right).
Another said they could get them but they would cost $39 each !!
Ended up going to a diesel injector place and got 4 for $20 (that's more like it)
After putting the new seals in and torqueing them down properly I still had the popping sound.
So next I removed the rockers/lifters.
Cleaned up all the lifters as some of them seemed stuck in one position.
Found out that 2 of the lifters had broken springs in them.
Again the stealers said there was no listing for them.
Ended up getting a couple of new rockers with lifters (could not buy the lifters separate) from an engine reconditioner for $50 each.
Put it all together and now she runs beautiful.
Even with 390000 kliks on the clock this engine is running very well.
