Anyone in Sheffield who can help with my Transit?

Postby andysvan » Mon Mar 26, 2007 11:53 am

I've just bought a 2000 W reg Transit (new shape.) There are a few niggling little faults which I can't fix myself, so I want to find someone who knows these vans well and can sort it for me.

The problems are:

Back doors don't close properly (catches don't catch)
Side door only opens when it wants too (again, dodgy locks / catches)
Number plate lights don't work
Interior lights keep blowing the fuse

That's all I can think of for now... The back doors are the main issue because they're not very secure at the moment. If anyone knows anyone who could sort this for me for a reasonable price please let me know!

Cheers, Andy

When you open the back doors i'm trying to remember if you can see the hinges as there are 2 bolts on mk 6/mk7 and u can loosen these and the door will move side to side corner to corner it might be it needs re aligning, the number plate lights may just need replacing as they get damp and corroded dont know how much they would cost or else you could take them apart and clean the metal inside with some emery cloth wet n dry etc etc as for interior light aint sure on that one chap maybe take it out of the roof lining and then turn on make sure none of the feed wires are chaffed or there aint no metal touching the inside of your roof good luck :!:
