P1665 is an "injection pump control module communication" issue.

You may have jumped the cam timing.??

You need to verify if it has indeed jumped a tooth or seven....The front cam chain cover needs to come off to verify properly and the flywheel and cams need to be pinned in the correct spots to set the cam timing.

If indeed it has jumped more than a tooth or two, the rocker ladder may be cracked or the bolts/threads pulled.

hmm.
I thought i just bewgered the starter motor as it is a solid flywheel. This all started with an empty oil filter, which manifested months later after I had run out of diesel and got it going again.

never heard of a rocker 'ladder'.

Is there a manual (haynes) downloadable?

It's the frame the rocker gear is mounted on.
