Hi and helllllp in one scream!
As the subject suggests, ive an 04 plate 135 which was running perfectly until ....On returning from a long haul to Scotland she started to cut out whilst tootling along at around 70 on the M8 however if I let her freewheel and then switched the ignition off and back on then to start pos shed fire back up and run fine for maybe ten or fifteen miles and then cutout again ... I didnt worry too much as it felt like she was airlocking and that id just somehow got a little air in the system By the time id got home to the midlands though it was much much more frequent and bleeding the system hadnt achieved anything only a longer journey time. The next morning after a lot of effort she fired up and seemed ok for a few minutes then after refuelling she gave a big puff of smoke and cut out and hasnt run again since (almost a wk ago) Weve tried changing the filter, emptying the tank, checked all the fuses and blown the fuel lines through between tank -filter- fuel rail. No joy. Today we had a fault finder on her and would you believe ..according to the infallible technology of Snap-on there arent any faults recorded anywhere..Hmmm the last thing we did tonight was to run an led test on the injectors and bingo (I think) This showed us that for some reason there isnt a signal going to the injectors allowing them to open and let fuel in and here we could really use some of your guys advice as we cant put our fingers on why this should be! So if you can suggest any possible cause and \or a solution Id appreciate the benefit of that knowledge as this really is beginning to drive me ----(or maybe walk me is more apt) BONKERS!!!!!!!
Thanks in advance folk
