Transit Alloys.

Postby Tipper_Tom » Sat Sep 06, 2014 9:17 pm

I'm new to a Mark 7

Are there any alloys from other vans or cars that will fit straight on my Mark 7?

If not where is a good place for second hand transit alloys.

What do I need PCD Offset etc

As has been discussed on this forum about 7 million times, only Transit wheels fit straight onto Transits.
Some people have use spacers to fit other wheels, but spacer can be just as hard to find.
What ever wheels you fit, the wheels, and tyres must be correctly load rated to match the weight of the van.

If only we had a search facility, it would possibly avoid the constant repetition of questions that have been answered time and again, I tell you something else, if we had some instructions posted round the forum, perhaps people would post one post, in the correct section, instead of multiple posts in random places.

Oh wait, we have a search function, and instructions.

I found out last night that a P100 wheel fits a transit, so I'm sorry to say you are wrong.

But seeing as you are having a "grumpy grandad" day, I will let this technicality slide.

I'm actually a crabbit c***.
The Sierra based P100 used Transit hubs and a wheel similar to Transit but with (iirc) a different offset. They have holes round the edge like a MK 5 wheel.
Technically it's the Transit wheels that fit the P100 ;)

No, I reckon I'll stand my ground, until you show me a P100 alloy wheel, because otherwise this is a pretty pointless argument

That's a good point, although some would say they look worse than the steel, wheels

Those are exactly the wheels I saw, and was told came of a P100, so yes, you can fit wheels on a transit from another vehicle.

What more can I say ? ;)

But they came from a Tata, not a P100. There were never any Ford P100 alloys, at least not in the uk

Truth lies in the middle...

Safari wheels direct fit although to be perfect they could do with centres slightly machining...
