My mk 6 has been no trouble for 4 years ,a great van but its time to replace it with a new mk7 swb 130 ps , after reading this forum and the amount of problems people are having i'm thinking maybe i should get another make or model . Are the mk 7s realy this bad ,also being told to waite 12 weeks before delivery .what should i do ?

Might be worth waiting a bit longer until they iron out any initial problems/bugs with them.

My 54 plate 196000 mile Jumbo is off the road at the moment so I hired a Mk7 100bhp Luton. What a disapointment. Ford have spent billions spent on ruining a perfectly good van. The dash is toytown and the gearchange appalling.

Put it this way. My next van won't have a blue oval on the front.

Why? Have you abused it so much it's falling to pieces? Is it very unrilyable? Do you actually like paying deprceation? If the answer to all of these questions is no, keep your Mk6.

Mine has been fine only a month old though , the thing is i work with couriers that have all makes and models and some of the boys with the new sphincters have had problems so its not just the Tranny also people only seem to post problems on here they dont often praise a van i've had a brand new Mk5,Mk6 and Mk7 and the Mk5 was the most reliable, i leased it for about 18 months and the only work it had done on it was servicing, having said all that the Mk7 is a lovely van to drive, comfy, handles well, quiet, lots of space in cab but at the end of the day its ur hard earned cash u gotta spend but i've tried them all VW,Merc,Citreon etc etc the only one i was impressed by was the VW Transporter credit where credits due its a damn good machine.Good Luck also mine took 12 weeks to come but could of had bog standard 140ps lwb/hr within a month

The VW LT series are good too, only problem with em is the doors are crap, ive seen so many with doors nearly hanging off. I know a few mates who drive em and they just go and go.
I still keep tellin em to buy a transit though

i recon the transit is more comfy and enjoyable to drive, of the mk5 sort of age, dont know about the newer ones though.
