im going through a set every 7 weeks on my 2000 rwd,its the drivers side that wares down quick,is this down to warn discs,as the brakes dont bind

You have an issue there!

check the sliding pins and the piston of the caliper, might also be worth checking the flexy hose too, to make sure that it's not kinked and stopping the fluid from returning.

changed the offending pads,took them out they were well hot for about 20 minutes after i took them out!altho i can get the pistons bac with a clamp easily the way the pad wore i think its time to overhaul the calipers,probly havent been touched in 310k....

How about the sliders? Easy thing to check when you are doing the pads.
