Right I think we’re getting somewhere :) passenger side has -3.0 mv on brake light circuit when side lights are on, drivers side has +5-10mv which tells me I have a short somewhere. Wiring is a mess underneath. It does have button leds all down the side would this make a difference??

It depends how they're connected in.
Best I can suggest is run a dedicated earth from lights back to battery or at least make sure your earth points are good.
Whip the bulbs out and go for a drive check if it makes a difference. Especially the RH side.
Now of course you'll be driving on your section of private road or track as I would hate to be seen to suggest anything illegal.

Haha of course, I’m off to my private runway! Well I ran a new earth point with way bigger cable, it got the mv reading down but not much. If I disconnect the earth completely from the light the side lights stay on anyway!!! If I take the bulb out and do a reading the mv reading goes above 100mv. I think I’m going to rewrite my rear lights completely but the thing is I don’t know where the issue is :(

Have you got a trailer socket, they have been known to short where they go through the tin mounting bracket also if it has a smart relay for a trailer that has a draw

No trailer socket bud. But the wiring under the van is a bit of a mess so think I’m gonna rewire it and go from there.

I have now reinstalled ids, i used the v86 and v86.4 from loot.

I run the installation through, i done a vcm reset and let that run through, and i am still getting the same message if i try to start a new session.

Any thoughts or ideas as im confused

What year is your van mate? Pre 04 wasn't obd2 compliant, you may need a vcm1 as they are more successful than clone vcm2

Its a 53plate so i guess vcm2 will not be the best,

any ideas where i can get a vcm1 from,

i wanna see if my truck has a speed limiter set, i can read codes ect with forscan done injectors with that as well but the idea of ids and vcm to allow key programming and other stuff was why i brought it.
