I was just thinking of adding an extra tank for when I get a diesel heater and put a filler cap on other side for it.

There's not much room under there on a FWD

luckily for you I have found a gentlemen that makes plastic tanks

On a rwd its easy I just cut the spare wheel holding stuff off and had an L shaped stainless tank made its about 140 l your going back a bit. I had the steel and was a twenty spot and a packet of fags to have it folded and welded with fittings
Bit rolf Harissy when its full though

But the FWD is a bit of a fooker space wise especially with the new raised mini roundabouts round here
I am going to get it out in the street next week and measure then report back

I'm not looking to fit a big tank, just something big enough to run a diesel/night heater over a weekend.

I am making plans to make a little camper/day van.

I used to heat my arse water with a d5w and a five gallon drum of red would last one month heating a full tank every day
So you will probb be ok with a 2 litre pop bottle for a tank

i am lucky i have a rwd and i dont have any rear tyre in the way. so loads of room there. i was thinking about making the standard ford one a better fit and posible larger

what i am looking for is either one very large or two smaller ones linked. or half a dozen Jerry cans sloshing around the place in the back is not what i wanted.
there is loads of little places and spots under neath. but i was thinking water tanks clean and dirty and say 25l each or about that, they dont have to be thousands

its the diesel one or ones that i need to look into. i think i will have another search round the forum as there was several people who have done stainless steel works so might be able to weld a tank or two up.

i think my biggest concerns has to be weight distribution when they are all full

No, the under body layout is the same as right hand drive.

Have you considered a ply tank lined with fiberglass

Ply box what ever size you like baffle gallon of resin bit of matting then glue a top on ?
