Leaking roof

Postby acegarp » Sun May 13, 2007 8:53 pm

Hi I have an 05 t280 85 LR, it seems to have a leak to the rear roof at the seam, inside the paint has flaked for most of the length of the seam due to rust. Salesman told me to put a bead of sealant along it!

Take it back under warranty before it runs out!

Another trip to the dealer. It's already been back with a collapsed bearing in the steering column. back tomo for wiper blades, don't clear the screen at all, dash left loose and rubber boot floating around on steering column.

Wiper blades wont be covered by warranty. but you want to get the body panels sorted as soon as.

I have always found my local dealer to be very good at replacing most things under warranty, I have had bulbs & wiper blades done under warranty, I did buy the van new from them so maybe that helps, I was shocked when they did it though

the body seam fault will still be covered by warranty.

the rubber boot above the lower bearing on the steering shaft is a loose fit item anyway. Even if it's pushed all the way down it soon rides back up after the steering has turned a few times or you knock it with your foot.

wipers are considered wear and tear and should only be replaced under warranty inside the first 12 months of the vehicles life if they are suffering a manufacturing defect. This is also the case for bulbs.

Has the dash been out for work......whats loose?

Thanks for t replies :)

Off to the body shop then for the rust, spose it comes under the anti perforation warranty.

The wipers were s**te and would have thought they would have changed them before selling to me, no such luck, they just cost me £30, the missus works in t motor trade in service, she cant believe how slack t commercial side of it is!!

Dashboard, it's the cowl above the speedo that was loose and missing a screw since I bought it. all sorted now, they put what looks like a wood screw in it LOL, not a normal screw, jeez could o done it myself but it's the principle of it!!

Cheers guys, am still lovin me tranny tho :D
