Postby Jonjonjon » Wed May 27, 2015 7:28 pm

Had an engine out of mk6 was around 75 bhp, have a 100 bhp engine in new van, has done 180k sounds tired chain rattle etc, question is I want to swap engine as I no the other 75hp engine is mint and was well serviced etc, can I straig swap with same power or will I have to change auxcillerys turbo pump etc, if so what will I have to swap all together. Searched for half hour on this so sorry if it's been covered already

Keep the 100, after owning a 75 and going to a 100 I can tell you I would NEVER go back, too sluggish for a van really

Lol I want to keep the 100bhp but swap block etc, basically I'm looking for info on what makes the van the 100bhp rather than the 75bhp is it down to ecu or turbo injector etc, basically main engine in tired 100bhp engine has new tubo pump etc which I would obv re use, but do I need to change injectors etc as well

Swap the engines, the pumps are the same. The injectors may be different, I can't remember.
If you use the pump on the 75 then it will need coded to the van by someone with suitable diagnostic kit

The inter cooler is already fitted to the 100ps van, as is the 100ps ecu

Block and head are similar enough!
Injectors may have part numbers on, check if they are the same, or just try it with the 75 injectors and if it's slow swap them ;)

For the costs involved. I'd simply fit a chain kit & give it a full service. Not worth changing an engine for the sake of a little rattle(unless its bottom end).
