Mk6 rwd wishbone problem

Truck was making a knocking noise from wishbone and it's took me 3 hours to remove bolt what goes into chassis but it's snapped (had to use 3ft tube as bolt seized), previously been welded as there has been a plate welded on the chassis so they could weld the nut on I guess, my question is it best to buy a new wishbone and nut and bolt or is it a special kind of nut that's meant to be welded in the chassis, hoping it's just a normal nut so I can get one from transit centre

Been told it's a captive nut welded in the chassis. It's snapped and loose in the chassis so looks like grinder and welder got to come out, any better ideas

Is there not a large hole on the inner side of the chassis element the wishbone and crossmenber bolts to ?

If there is you can just reach in and remove the loose nut ?

Look at the opposite side of the van to see if it is the same.

yeah there is a factory hole in the chassis but captive nut still wont come out because of the weld and washer on it where its been bodged in the past so looks like i have to make the hole bigger to get it out, going to look for new nut and bolt as i can only get the bolt from transit centre

Ford use 2nd or 3rd choice sizes for those bolts, from memory it might be M14. The horizontal wishbone bolt is M14 by 170 long.

Depending how quick you need to be back on the road the turret that sticks down from the chassis leg is part number 1759214 on the right and 4700662 on the left.

thanks for info mate ive bodged it for now as needed it on the road asap and fitted a bolt and managed to heat and bend a screwdriver to put in the hole under the chassis to wedge the nut so i can tighten the bolt, ive ordered two new wishbones so ill change them in the week, thanks again
