Well decided to bite the bullet and get my tourneo 2.2 110bhp mk7 remapped.Unfortunately I couldn't justify driving to vantuner .
I had it done locally by a company called Quantum remaps,although I was a bit concerned about it,after a chat with the staff was assured would have a good outcome.
Anyway it's been a week since and no problems touch wood!quite a difference in drive can overtake confidently with added torque and bhp.So my opinion mpg has improved slightly, but was told not to expect the 30% people claim. More like 4mpg around town at the moment doing 31mpg was 27mpg prior,egr deleted also from software.

Maybe spoke too soon,noticed that theres a splutter occurring!driving around get to 4th gear on hill should cruise up but now and then theres this splutter as if low on diesel,spoke to the guy and was asked when the last service was done 2 years ago.So decided needed another service which I have done still the same splutter,any ideas people thanks in advance!

Update egr wasn't closed completely,egr now closed deleted and unplugged.See how things go for a while

Stutter back again,strange only happens in 4th gear though?
remapper says he deleted the egr software closed egr and dicconnected the plug but that hasn't made a difference,do you think its the map or because it's a 110bhp?

The 110 never maps very well, it has the low flow injectors, and they can be a pest to get right.

That's why I said Vantuner in first place

Is it possible to put higher bhp injectors in this block?Any other mods needed?

ok went back to get the remap deleted,but soon as I got there I remembered they disconnected the egr plug(they reckoned this was causing the stutter)although they done a egr software delete.
I said to the guy did you plug the egr back in?he then replied oh forgot to do that,should he have done that prior to putting the original map back on?A few miles later I noticed there's a flutter on tick over if you know what I mean.Promptly shot back over to them the mapper not there but did a code scan and the egr was showing, cleared codes but again the fluttering is back....My question is would it make a difference if they put the original map back on with the egr disconnected? sorry about being long winded but the only way to explain..oh and the flutter wasn't there prior to remap,although I did do a service as in previous posts

We look at all the threads mate so don't worry, if you don't get a reply it's because nobody is certain of your fault but it will be read

My input would be, don't worry about the egr being unplugged when the pcm is being updated software wise, but if reinstalling original pcm data then doing a pump and injectors learn then it might be better having the egr plugged in and functional if not absolutely necessary.

As far as I'm aware you still need the egr to be plugged in and working when you get it deleted (probably just so the connections are correct even tho the egr doesn't open/close) but that's what I've read.

Mine used to stutter in 5th about 2k revs and holding, that was on standard and remapped software so i doubt it's the map causing it imo, could be throttle pedal, crank sensor, fueling or something else.

I presume my egr was functioning correctly,no faults stored prior to remap,but there was when they put the original back on possibly due to the fact they never reconnected the egr before restoring original map
