Mk7 OBD scanner and warning light

Hi guys this is my first post and before I go on I would like to thank every single person on this forum for they contributation to make it what it is today now on with the problems ...

I have a 56 plate mk7 100 t350 and first problem is driving home today was all fine then I had a loss of power for a second or 2 then the power train light came on (cog with ! Inside) oh and it's a diesel and it has stayed on permanently but otherwise van is perfectly fine and I'm also looking to buy a obd scanner to help diagnose these problems myself and I'm on a very tight budget I have been looking of eBay and I have found a f-super 2 for £20 and says it reads ford transits just doesn't say what models will this work on my mk7

they will work on the full range, it will let you do most of the diagnostics ok

does the van have 2 batteries under the drivers seat? if so get the front one looked at as they appear to cause a fair few electrical faults

Great that you I will be getting one of those the and yes it does and the auxiliary battery did go flat last week could this be a factor?? Thanks for your help

the Aux battery runs all the electrics so can be a huge factor

Ok but it's been driven a lot since then so the battery should be pretty full shouldn't it? Never had a problem with the battery's before apart from then when the doors were left open all day which was my fault

Front batteries die on mk7s but because the starter battery gets linked, you have no problem starting so you can be unaware
You should get them drop tested just to rule that out.
Mk7 tend to be a bit hungry on the front battery too

Ok I will do that thank you ! I noticed when the aux battery died the radio didn't work and when I opened the door the instrument cluster lit up and the dials dipped and made a funny noise I'm guessing because the was very little power left
