2009 all wheel drive 2.4 140 ps engine blown up!!!!!!!

Just what you need on a monday morning!!! Big cloud of smoke loss of power then cut out leaving oil everywhere!!

82,000miles full service history!! Im proper ill with this van!!!

Had it recovered and looked at and its popped no 1 piston, so no compression and presurizing the sump hence the oil!!

New engine required!!!!!

Only saving grace it broke down next to a lay by with a butty van and a decent view so i could cry into a brew!!!

Any advise appreciated

Oh dear not sure what advise to give tbh, apart from buying a new engine of course
Boss got a full motor new from QUICKO for 2300, only had to put his pump and injectors on it plus manifolds etc .

any ideas on the engine type/code im looking for or are the short engines the same?

The code is on the ns b pillar.If your going down the short engine route check your own before you commit yourself as you may get away with a new piston or pistons. Make sure you get your injectors tested

a faulty injector can cause problems with the pistons, (melted piston)

Did you have the van "tuned" in any way shape or form?

Yes, Martyn @ vantuner did it for me ... focus was on economy rather than power ,but there was some obvious changes, also did egr delete...

Im wondering if I should of have him re map again after new injectors were fitted in case this had some sort of effect on whats happened, vans probably done about 10,000miles since re map , injectors were done about 2,000 miles after re map...
