Bad Judder at 40 mph????

Postby 654vans » Sun May 20, 2007 8:54 pm

We have just sold a 350 MWB 2.4TD Transit 52 plate. The customer noticed quite a bad judder on it at 40mph, so we said we'll get it sorted and you can collect it in a couple of days. Anyway, we've had it on the ramp with no wheels on it, took the diff out and it did it, so got the propshaft balanced, still did it, fitted new gearbox, clutch and flywheel and its still doing it??? Any ideas cause its got us stumped!

did you check the rear prop shaft U/J ?

The have a nasty habit of failing and can give a vibration through the body at around 40mph, tends to hurt your ears too :(

propshaft people should have found that though.

can you describe the judder etc
