Mrk 6 tdci wiring problem

Postby mattyyoung » Mon Jun 15, 2015 5:38 pm

Evening guys,

Right I've been having a problem with my van for the past couple of months now. Long story short it intermittently cuts out when driving, it can happen at any speed but mainly when just pottering around town it occurs more! The van will judder and then go in to limp mode and the engine sounds like tractor. If you pull over and turn it off it will either restart straight away or could take anything up to a day to restart!!! I've taken it to a injector specialist and they say the injectors are working fine, they said the problem lies writhing the injector harness as there seems to be a few different breaks in it. They tried fixing it and the van work perfect for about two weeks then went back to cutting out, they are now saying it needs a new injector wiring harness at a cost of £900. Has anyone had this happen to them before? Anyone got any thoughts? Could I get a second hand harness and fit it myself? Would it just be a case of unplugging it?

Any help would be appreciated

Regards
Matt

If it is Tourneo Mk6 2,0 tdci (125HP) FWD and your van is also FWD - yes, it has engine with exactly the same injection and electric system.
Mondeo Mk3 2,0 tdci has the same injection and electric engine system, but some harness parts can be to short or to long.

Hi,

Thank you for the reply. Do you know the part number? Would it be an easy job removing the injector wiring loom and would I have to get the injectors re coded if I was to remove the loom?
