sliding door lock

Postby stevetiler » Mon Jun 15, 2015 6:15 pm

Hi all,
Got a wierd problem on a 57 plate transit, the sliding door will not unlock with the fob unless I pull on the outside handle first!
It makes all the right noises but unless I give the handle a pull first It wont unlock! I took off the hardboard door liner and cant see anything obvious, same thing-if I pull on the cable first it unlocks! Any ideas?
Thanks Steve

I know the guy I bought the van from and he said it started when he had the door rollers changed!

Mines were fine till couple month ago I recokon it was my generator wen it hit the door from the inside due to my driving lol.but wen I tired to open it today I pushed the door close even more first then unlocked it then it opened straight away so I'm guessing it's not touching the connectors Probaly so it could be something needs adjusting if either the door or contacts

I have a mk6, and my sliding door only opens when the van has been 1st unlocked, say on a morning, but if i were to lock my van again then unlock it the door stays locked, its had me baffled for ages, also it sounds like everythings working, but obviously somethings not right.

It looks perfect- only thing I can see is the 3 pin connector plate has low markings ie looks like the plate could do with moving up a bit but looks like it's riveted solid!

Try cleaning those contact with wd40. When I had problems with mine I just re aligned the door and it was perfect

I had this problem and it ended up being the lock unit itself failing.....
