Hi there really at the end of my tether with my 04 transit. My back lights, dash light and side lights keep blowing and I can't find the problem. I've fitted new switch that I had. Also fixed them and they blew a day later. Can anyone help?
Thanks Davie

The connectors to the rear light clusters are a very common problem for light problems, the corrode inside the plastic connectors

I have taken the connections out and fixed them directly onto the Unit but they worked well for a bit but then kept blowing. Do you know where I could find a wiring diagram ?

Check the rear looms for damage where they run along the top of the van

I'm assuming that the speedo lights are failing and the rear sidelights and front lights to be specific? Indicators etc all work yes?
My question is that i don't think that the interior and exterior lights are connected except through the light switch yes? So is more than 1 fuse blowing? If not then is it the supply fuse to the interior light or there of?
What number fuse are you replacing?
You changed the switch but given the 2 sets of lights are blowing then I'd be looking at a link tbh.
Could be wrong on the mk6 tho.:-)

The front mainl lights work. The fuse that keeps blowing is a 20. The back lights, indicators, brake lights, fog lights etc and front side lights are all out. Interior light is fine. I cleaned and soldered the wires straight onto the connections in the back light box and bit all worked for about 20 mins. It's finding where the brake could be and how to go about finding it.

Thanks guys. Managed to fix the problem. Disconnected all wires in back lights and soldered all connections and made good the earth connection to the body. Hopefully that's it.
