Lack of power when cold

Postby sharpy » Sat Jun 27, 2015 9:49 am

I have a 10 plate 115 and when cold on idle it fluctuates up and down on the revs, when driving first thing it has a lack of power as if it wants to cut out. And it sounds like a tractor. When it warms up its ok.

Is this lack of fuel?
Low on fuel pressure?
Or fuel pump?

Try cleaning the MAF sensor, they degrade in performance anyway after 50k, use some electrical contact cleaner that doesn't leave a residue.

How many miles has the machine done? Fluctuating or hunting idle is often a SCV and/or PRV issue. There quite a bit written on them through these forums and quite a common occurrence. Usually replacement of these two valves and a PCM update, pump & injector learns helps.
