engine fault again

Postby k11gmh » Sun Jun 28, 2015 3:04 pm

Hello can any one advice what a multi cylinder misfire is, yet again broke down on the M6 in Cumbria went into limp mode got the brake down people to have a look plugged into the system and the result was what I said at the beginning.
Last year new fuel pump new fuel pressure sensor refurbished injectors crank sensor and one other cant remember, but I will say the last few months seems to have lost power the van is a 2004 2.4 tdci 350 lwb with only 135000 miles on the clock. Any advice please because I was traveling back from Arran in Scotland with a fair amount of work on at the moment my confidence is getting low

It's a 135ps injectors are very fussy on them and i believe that if you have a problem with swarf in the system it should be thoroughly cleaned out from the tank upwards then the injectors sorted out correctly/ideally replaced but not without cleaning the system or it'll fook the new ones up.

You could check the fuel filter and head are working and not full of swarf as said.

See if any other fault codes come up too.
Consider whether there is any snot in the fuel system too.

Thanks for the info but I must say the tank came off last year and all the fuel flow and return were washed through and a new filter, but will look at that tomorrow got the guy who replaced the fuel pump coming down to go through every thing just a bit annoyed with the problems my last van I finished with had over 260000 never changed a fuel pump or injector but that was a 125 tdi 330 mwb great van.
But thanks for the good advice will let you know cheers

Thanks again for your help 1 and 4 faulty injectors is the prognoses which were replaced as refurbished by Swad diesel less than a year ago one never knows just sick of people when you mention a 135 then the comment bag of sh-t
But I must admit this has cost over £2000 in three years first van I have bought second hand but new the van for a long time and its history. Had 7 vans over the years all new the last one a 330 mwb tdi when done with it because of panel rot had 260000 miles on the clock apart from tyres brakes ect was a new diff never had an injector fault or fuel pump can not understand and being a ford man not happy talk soon take care Graham
