WIPERS

Hi I have a 2006 Transit connect short wheel base , for a good month or so now the wipers come on when I turn the key to engage the starter motor ,
now this does not do it every time , it can go for a week without doing it or it may do it several times a week ,I have changed the wiper stalk , the relay but not sure if its the motor , could it be an earthing problem ?. can anyone help and tell me where to check please ..........

Recently seen this on a mk7 transit, it was an earth fault.

The main earth lead to engine was corroded and high current was feeding back through other earths causing major problems!
