2.0 white smoke struggles when hot

Postby fekno » Wed Jul 08, 2015 2:16 pm

afternoon realise this is a first post and a tad cheeky but i was on facebook page ubtil i deleted account!

Right long story short iv owned a 2006 mk6 transit 2.0 Fwd for a while and was probably one of roughest in country body work wise. But after being all over the country in it (trailor most of time) collecting cars i decided last week it needed a treat. So i gutted it back and fitted mk6 front end doors back doors etc, Painted it and was happy with results yesterday pulled it out of workshop for first time and it ran bob on as per usual until temprature hit half way and then it went into cow bag mode. Struggerling to rev and pooring white smoke when trying to rev! will happily idle with no smoke it doesnt knock or anything like that,

So after doing some reading on here thought it may be EGR so this morning when it was cold disconnected the EGR vac pipe and set of to work drove bob on again until it hit half way and then like clock work no power struggerling to rev and clouds of white smoke! So i ran it to my mate (also into transits) who said maybe Turbo so we check some things

Turbo (fine)
Temp sensor (unplugged that still no difference)

It was then suggested could be fuel filter housing (which im yet to check)

Came to work this morning plugged it into a snap on reading came up

p0149 fuel timing error
P1564 injection pump control module requesting reducced fuelling
p0500 speed sensor malfunction

Now iv spent probably 2 hour reading through posts iv searched on here and all except one have knocks etc (mine doesnt) the one i found that had exactly the same faults as mine was never finished!!

Any help really appreciated

it seems awfully strange that i drove it into unit and it was bob on the after i put mk7 front end on it runs like a nail!! iv also kept the mk6 rad and intercooler so dont think can be anything to do with that.
