Transit T370 minibus down-plate weight to 3500kg for licensing reasons ?

Only reason down-plate to 3500kg so you don't need a tacho or operators licence.

It would not have any effect on driving licence though...

Its a minibus which would seat more than 8 passengers - Can't be driven on a Cat B licence (Normal car licence) You'll need a cat D1 minibus licence instead. :!:

It may not be a minibus now, could be a camper or had seats removed to make it MPV

Im sure on the transits you have to change front and rear springs then get it checked at a DVSA ATF, they will sign it off and issue a new VTG6 with the downrated weights on it, this must be displayed in vehicle at ALL times,

you will NOT be issued a new vin plate with the downrated weights on it, the VIN plate issued to the vehicle is not used for weights on vehicles over 3500kg, it is all done on the VTG6 plate, this is the one the MOT station will use at MOT, If you get pulled over by police or DVSA and the VTG plate is not there they will go to the VIN plate (wich will have 3700kg on it)
